Lesson 2.1Free lesson

Every candle is a fight

Each candle shows a short battle between buyers and sellers. Its body and wicks tell you who won and who fought back.

Key takeaways

  1. A green candle closed higher than it opened: buyers won that round.
  2. A red candle closed lower: sellers won.
  3. Long wicks show rejection: one side pushed, the other side shoved it back.
Quick check

A candle has a long lower wick and closes near its high. What does it suggest?

Transcript

Every candle on your screen is a tiny fight. Buyers on one side, sellers on the other. And once you can read the fight... a single candle can tell you more than a whole screen of indicators.

Let's break one open. The body shows where price opened, and where it closed. Green means it closed higher, so buyers won this round. Then the wicks. They show the highest and lowest prices reached... the ground each side fought for.

Now the one pros love. See this long lower wick? Sellers smashed price down... but buyers stepped in and shoved it all the way back up. That's rejection. And at the right level, it's one of the strongest signals you'll ever see.

So. Green, buyers won. Red, sellers won. And a long wick means one side got rejected, hard.
